智慧型機器人產業為一發展中的新興重要產業，產品應用範圍相當廣泛，無論是家庭、公司、工廠或是學校等，機器人產品發展未來勢必逐漸擴增，為加速產品發展，並佔有世界機器人產業版圖，將透過產品研發聯盟活動來協助國內產業界。本活動由經濟部指導，工業局與技術處共同主辦，工研院、中科院、精機中心、金屬中心共同合作，台灣機器人產業發展協會協助聯盟活動辦理，推動國內機器人產品研發聯盟並建置聯盟合作環境，97年度預計推動保全、清潔、益智娛樂、教育及產業用等產品研發聯盟，本活動主要目的如下： 　
1. 促進更多國內機器人產品開發，增加廠商產品多元化，創造產業規模經濟提升產值； 　
2. 協助國內傳統產業進行技術升級及企業轉型； 　
3. 整合產官學研之資源，降低廠商開發成本及風險。 　　
會中將分析國內此5項領域之機器人發展環境及現況，並透過意見交流與討論，獲取未來聯盟合作方向之參考與建議，期透過聯盟之建立，共創台灣機器人產業。 

This little yellow-tracked robot roams around looking for something to drum on. It samples the sound, makes sure it is good, and creates little rhythms. Notice how the robot first plays on the object it finds (or is forced to find by the angry cameraman), plays a small beat, and records the beat it plays on it. Then this recorded beat is played again, and it starts to play on the object (an belt tracks and everything else it has),and also playing this sampled beat :)Also some videos from construction and tuning-time..

造 價1000萬歐元，全球最龐大的深海遙控機器人SMD Ultra Trencher 1 (UT1)，已經開工啦。50噸重，三圍25.5 x 25.5 x 18.3英呎，功率2兆瓦特，可以在1500米深的堅硬海床上打出1米寬2.5米深的壕溝，並鋪設電纜。由於船隻胡亂拋錨，弄斷了3到4根深海主幹光纜， UT1及時上工正好解決了這燃眉之急。

ANN ARBOR, Mich.—A six-inch robotic spy plane modeled after a bat would gather data from sights, sounds and smells in urban combat zones and transmit information back to a soldier in real time.

That's the Army's concept, and it has awarded the University of Michigan College of Engineering a five-year, $10-million grant to help make it happen. The grant establishes the U-M Center for Objective Microelectronics and Biomimetic Advanced Technology, called COM-BAT for short. The grant includes an option to renew for an additional five years and $12.5 million.

U-M researchers will focus on the microelectronics. They will develop sensors, communication tools and batteries for this micro-aerial vehicle that's been dubbed "the bat." Engineers envision tiny cameras for stereo vision, an array of mini microphones that could home in on sounds from different directions, and small detectors for nuclear radiation and poisonous gases.

隨著國內半導體、平面顯示器等製造的快速發展，台灣對於產業用機器人需求也逐年成長當中，產業用機器人主要應用於零組件搬運、組裝、塗料等作業，而其效能與運用則有賴於馬達控制、嵌入式系統、感測器、運動路徑規劃等技術之高度整合，以充分發揮機器手臂之功用。
本活動為激發與鼓勵國內學生針對機器手臂研發及創意應用發展，特設立機器手競賽，希望透過競賽方式發掘相關產業人才之目的，並有效促進產學合作，共同提升機器人產業之技術與產值。

񗹤 智慧型機器人產業為一個高度技術整合、高關聯性且具有高附加價值的明星產業，然而機器人產業發展的過程中，專業人才是一項重要的關鍵元素，機器人教育在培養專業人才扮演舉足輕重的角色；教學單位在教具採用上多以國外產品為主，目前國內有多家廠商相繼投入機器人教具開發市場，在質與量上已有相當的成果。為提供業界與學界在教具開發方向的交流與協助國產教育機器人產品曝光，特舉辦「促進國產機器人教具導入機器人教育市場提升機器人人才素質座談會」，供與會專家與來賓交流資訊，並現場提供主講廠商攤位推廣產品，以作為產業投入與學校設備採購的參考。

According to ICT Results, a EU-funded project named Embounded 'has achieved the twin, and apparently contradictory goals, of making embedded systems both smarter and tougher.' One example is the robuCAB, a '4 seats automated people mover' developed by a French company and built from a 4 wheel-drive electric chassis with on-board PC. This autonomous vehicle follows the kerb and carries several embedded systems, with one camera on the path edge, another device tracking the angle and direction of the kerb, while others control the gearing and acceleration. robuCABs are not totally independent. They move over pre-defined circuits which contain a series of sensors below the ground. But read more...

Robosoft is a French company based in the Technopole d'Izarbel Bidart and has a long history of designing high-end innovative service robots. It was founded in 1985 as a start-up of the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control (INRIA).
